The most important factor in an essay is the vocabulary that is being used in the essay. Vocabulary is the range of words that you utilize when writing an essay. Although the purpose of an essay is not to prove your vocabulary, a variety of the words being used would help you capture the readers’ attention. A quote from your subject or a brief anecdote about him or her may provide an interesting introduction ; dialogue can be a great way to add interest to a descriptive essay. Even description for description's sake should have a purpose. Is there an important overall impression you wish to convey? This is your thesis; organize your essay around it. For example, you might describe your car as your home away from home, full of snack foods, changes of clothing, old issues of the Chico News & Review, textbooks, and your favorite music. Repetitive use of words conveys a lack of understanding and skill to present your views. In an academic or technical essay, you might also create your diagram ideas in the outline If necessary. A rough hierarchical sketch of your points also might be helpful to structure your essay. A conclusion is an overall summary of the topic along with a brief summary of what has been discussed. It is mandatory for every essay to have a conclusion. A coherent essay is an essay which contains well-linked sentences and paragraphs. Ideally, a coherent essay would contain connecting words in almost every sentence. For instance, “However”, “In addition to”, “Firstly”, “Secondly”, “Henceforth”. The connecting words help in giving the reader an experience which allows the information to flow into the brain. Hence, the reader never loses the link to what is being read. With this information in hand, you'll be better prepared to write the kind of essay admissions officers want to read. One of the hardest parts of writing the college application essay is getting started. What does admissions really want to hear from you? And how do you know if you’re moving in the right direction? We made this video full of helpful tips to help you break through your initial writing blocks and get you on the road to college essay success. Know how long a college admissions officer spends reading your application? Or, you might describe your car as an immaculate, beautiful, pampered woman on whom you lavish attention and money. Just don't describe your car in cold, clinical detail, front to back without having in mind the purpose, the overall impression you want to create. To achieve this impression, you should not necessarily include all details; use only those that suit your purpose. It is important to present the information in a crisp and concise manner. The paragraphs should be limited to 5-6 sentences. It is perfectly fine to keep shorter Introduction and Conclusion but the body paragraphs need to maintain the length. One should also maintain uniformity in paragraph structuring. This means that your essay must not contain 2 body paragraphs where one is too long while the other is too short. This suggests the reader that you probably ran out of ideas. This is an important factor to get reader’s attention.

In a categorical context, an academic or business writing, should both convey their message clearly to the reader. However, these types of writings differ in nature as they belong to two varying fields. Their purpose, audience, and subject matter are some of the aspects that do not match each other. To explore these and further differences, we have laid out all the major factors that set them apart. Am especially open to reading and commenting on GP and History essays. The audience of academic writing is most often just a professor. Sometimes experts of a particular field might read it too. But business writing has a vast array of target audiences. Yes you need to have a good outline before you write an essay. Your outline will determine what about and how good your piece will be. As a business writer meeting, urgent deadlines is crucial. These deadlines are set by employers to cater to the needs of their company. There are many distractions at the workplace where business content is written. Moreover, the writer is rarely allowed to include their own honest opinion on the material. It consists of stakeholders, clients, employees, managers, agencies, lawyers, and more. Non-academic writing caters to the interests and needs of a lot of people. Academic writings are written by students who are prompted by their teachers. Academic writing is basically more about completing the requirements of the teacher. Your basic goal is to be able to deliver a concise message in the correct tone to the reader. Paragraphs need to be no more than eight lines longer in print form to make it easier to read through. ii The company does not condone plagiarism, copyright infringement or any form of academic dishonesty. All provided sample services must only be used for reference purposes while being cited properly. Connect with a professional writer by placing your first order. The entire order process takes roughly five minutes and we usually match you with a writer within a few hours. And because of that, I am open to reading essays and commenting on them, if any of you want me to. The next to focus will be the conclusion which is the most important part of the essay. The conclusion should be very well maintained as it works as a send-off. If your readers have made a good impression on your essay but the conclusion is not good enough, everything will be in vain. So you should always try to write the best conclusion possible. 2 Free revisions are offered for all custom writing, editing, and business writing services. 4 Tips For Essay Writing

4 Tips For Essay Writing The narrative is based on your own life and experience, which means there are unlikely any relevant materials to support your writing. Unlike many other types of essays, the format of a narrative essay encourages the use of the “I” pronoun. A thesaurus is another valuable tool when writing an essay. A thesaurus tells you synonyms, or words that have the same or a similar meaning to the word you look up. It’s important because it can add some volume to your essay and increase the impact of your words. Is everything in the correct tense (past, present, future, etc.)? If you’re writing about plurals, are the possessive nouns plural? The introduction sets up the essay by presenting background information related to the essay question. The general focus on the introduction will then become more focussed on the essay question. You will then need to find some research based on the topic which can include text books, journal articles, conference papers etc. Firstly we explore the planning and preparation required to write a standard essay and then outline the basic essay structure. Lastly, there are some fantastic online resources that can help improve your writing. Does every sentence end with a punctuation mark ? Reading the text backwards make you focus on the rules of grammar instead of the flow of the sentence. As you learn the English language, make a serious effort to practice your grammar and sentence structure. You will learn more about the topic, and you will gain more vocabulary words to enrich the essay. A strong essay is one that covers a lot of content in a succinct (short, to-the-point) way. This process of acting like a reporter will give you valuable quotes, resources and vocabulary to begin the writing process. That way, you will make the story more personal and relatable for your audience. A good narrative essay example will show you what your essay should look like, what kind of tone it should have, and how to make your narrative essay more interesting to your audience. Here is an example of a narrative essay created by our writing team for you. The three or more body paragraphs are where your main story will take place. For instance,Hemingway Editorcan review your document to find any confusing or wordy sentences. You can rewrite these to make them easier to understand. In a typical narrative essay outline, the body paragraphs carry most of the significance and should be written particularly carefully if you want your essay to shine. Some of the best narrative essay topics are rather narrow, since it can be very difficult to cover a broad topic in the limited narrative essay format. Good narrative essay topics always combine proximity to your own interests and the ability to fit into the interests of your audience. One way to spot improper grammar in your own writing is to read each sentence backwards . This way, you won’t be fooled by how the words sound when you read them in your head. Also, by arguing for the opposite side of your opinion, you will learn which points you need to better address in your essay. Your narrative essay topic should be close to your own experience, but it also needs to be relevant to what your potential audience wants to see. The first step in writing an outstanding narrative essay is learning the narrative essay definition. There is no universal definition of narrative essay simply because of how broad and all-encompassing this genre of writing is. I have owned and operated L.T.L. Essay Writing Tips For International Students

Essay Writing Tips For International Students Scope â€" where you outline what exactly is going to be covered in relation to your argument.2. Main bodyEach paragraph should focus on one idea only. Essays help you discover more about a topic and write a reasoned analysis of the issues in question, using a range of external sources to support your position. Writing your introduction last means you are more likely to have a tighter fit between the introduction, main body and conclusion because you already know what your essay will be about. Concluding sentenceThe Concluding Sentence should echo the main point of the paragraph and function as a bridge to the next paragraph.N.B. Paragraphs should be balanced â€" keep to the ‘no less than 3 sentences per paragraph’ rule. Elaboration and examplesElaboration of the main point should add more detailed information in relation to the topic sentence. The last sentence is a broad statement relating to the significance of the argument. However, chocolate’s inherent popularity does not equate to it possessing healthy properties, as suggested by the title. The realities of chocolate are more down to earth; a number of these realities will be addressed in this essay. Chocolate has chemical properties that can influence mood and there is possible evidence for some positive impacts of chocolate on cardiovascular health. Yet, such positive attributes are counterbalanced somewhat by the argument that, in some instances, chocolate can be viewed as a drug rather than a food. Moreover, there is the possibility of some correlation between over-consumption of chocolate and obesity. Including your voice does not mean that you should say ‘I think’ or ‘in my opinion’. Since Spanish explorers brought back chocolate from the new world, chocolate consumption has become a worldwide phenomenon. At first, chocolate, a derivative of the cacao bean, was consumed as a drink, only later achieving mass popularity in tablet or bar form. For a 1000 word essay you need at least three days to redraft your essay. Essays also sometimes begin with an issue, outline the scope and then move on to end the introduction with the thesis statement. Sometimes, particularly in very short essays, the essay will begin with an issue rather than a background statement. Whether chocolate is a food or a drug is also unclear. It can therefore be said that chocolate is not a healthy food, but can be enjoyed as part of a healthy and balanced diet and lifestyle. To write a 1000 word essay, ideally you should allow yourself about 3 weeks. You might wonder how you can include your own voice and still sound academic when you are writing about a subject area in which you have little knowledge. Thus, it will be argued that despite chocolate’s positive effect in some cases on mood and the cardiovascular system it has also been linked to addiction and obesity. Leave yourself enough time to look at your essay more than once. Brainstorming means producing ideas related to a theme. There is no set model for an essay, but the English for Uni website presents one popular way to do it. The following example is based around a 1000 word discussion essay. To read about essays in greater detail, download this PDF or Word document. Your paragraphs should be balanced â€" keep to the rule of no less than 3 sentences per paragraph. Order as many assignments as you need to finally have a good night’s rest. We’ll do each and every task timely and up to par. No burning deadlines, no tight schedules, no headaches. Have a good night’s sleep today, tomorrow, every day. The first sentence links the conclusion to the discussion in the previous paragraph. The first two articles have been cited 90 times and 103 times respectively, suggesting that they might be good sources for your essay. The links to the right indicate that you can access the articles through your university website. The best place to start (assuming you haven’t already been given a prescribed reading list!) is by using an academic database. War between Nations Mars and Venus Fictitious Nations - 1925 Words

List anyone you need to thank for providing data, funding or research assistance here (librarians, etc.), as well as any peers or colleagues who read and provided feedback on the draft paper. This page is normally single-spaced and does not get a page number. Introduction War is described as armed conflict between states, nations, groups or even organizations. There are many reasons that could lead to a war, but most of the reasons are based on certain misunderstandings between the parties involved. Some of the most popular wars that have happened globally include the first and second world wars. Recently, there has been the war on terror in which the United States de clared against groups such as the al-Qaida and Taliban in the Arab world. Today, there is also a war on terror which is ongoing which is on terrorism against the Islamic state in the Middle East especially in Iraq and Syria. There are also other wars which are ongoing across the world in different parts of the world (Al Jazeera, 2015). Nations are provoked to go to war in most cases when there is a breach in the agreements between them and more importantly when there is a threat to the sovereignty of these nations. In this paper, an analysis is conducted on two fictitious states Venus and Mars and their interaction for a period of twenty years to determine the possibility of these countries going to war. Possibility of Venus and Mars going to war Mars and Venus are neighboring countries but they have had some confrontations on a number of times. In most cases, the wars have been triggered by a show of might by Venus which has a larger army and which has been militarized in a bett er way than Mars. Additionally, Venus is a more democratic country as compared to Mars, and, therefore, some of the crashes are based on the very foundation of lack of commitment by Mars to respect the sovereignty of Venus (Daase 2006:74). A peninsular that is owned by Mars has great military advantage for Mars and hence Venus sees that peninsular as a threat to its security. Additionally, the peninsular also contains minerals and oil. Although the amounts of minerals and oil are insignificant in terms of economical benefits, Venus can still benefit from them. The two countries share a large border which is more than 200 miles suggesting that there are many illegal entry points in which people from the two countries can enter. Since Venus is more democratic, it can deal with some of the illegal trades which happen between the porous borders but the same cannot be said for Mars. It is common sense that Mars being an autocratic nation will turn a blind eye for trades and smuggling exe rcises which happen through those borders and, that is a sure provocation into war. Another reason why the two countries are likely to go to war follows the fact that these countries have a history of war, and in most cases, the countries size each other up and flex their military might against each other (Fearon 1995:379). Wars in many cases happen because of revenge and for show of power and glorification of that power. Both Venus and Mars have initiated the series of ten wars that have already happened simply to show force or to use force against each other with leaders from both countries citing obscure reasons for the war. Venus is said to have a nuclear weapon site although its leaders vehemently deny the existence of such a site. However, it cannot be overruled simply because the leaders claim they do not have the weapons. Mars would feel threatened by presence of such weapons in the hands of an enemy they engage in war. It would thus be a move for Mars to start a war aimed at destruction of the nuclear weapons site to ensure that when the two countries go into war or any confrontations, the weapons cannot be used against them. Mars does not have any military pacts and agreements with any nations, but by suggesting the possession of such weapons for Venus and showing how much of a threat the weapons are for countries in that region, Mars can have other states globally showing concern and even helping it in destroying those weapons. Unfortunately, Venus has signed many pacts with its neighboring countries and other collective defense pacts with more than twenty countries including ententes. The fact that Venus has joined these pacts makes it both strong and vulnerable. First, the pacts prevent member nations from engaging into a war with other countries for any dispute without exhausting other channels to solve the conflict (Ashley, 2014:30). Additionally, there must be enough reason for any war to be fought by a member country. This means that there is a chain of command to be followed before Venus can engage into a war with Mars. Unfortunately, Mars does not have such pacts, and as a standalone country, starting a war does not require so much red tape. As long as the commander in chief wants a war, the war happens. Mars could take advantage of the vulnerability of Venus caused by such pacts to go to war. Unfortunately, the pacts could also help Venus by logistics, weaponry and other instruments of war. Mars is seen to be a nation whose leadership is not stable and does not perform well according to survey conducted on its citizens. There is thus a great possibility that with its autocratic rule and underperformance, many of its citizens either come to work or stay in Venus as illegal immigrants or as political refugees (Jackson Mars would go to lengths to retake it leading to a series of wars until the situation is resolved (Walter, 2014). The GDP Venus has grown quite well meaning that lifestyles of people in Venus is better and hence there is potential for an influx of individuals from Mars to come and live in Venus or even to trade illegally from Venus as a way of dealing with the economic hard times in Mars (Gutmann, 2014). Such actions pose a threat to the nation and an imminent reason for war. Sometimes, war is the only war that a country can get justice for its people and respect within the region. There are obviously no diplomatic ties between Mars and Venus. If there was a diplomatic relationship, the two countries would not have gone to war with each other so many times as they would have taken diplomacy in dealing with the menace. In lieu of this, it is possible that the two countries have cross border relationships that are not healthy and perhaps either nation feels that its people are violated by the administration of the other country and that could lead to a war. For instance, if there are Venusians arrested by Mars working illegally through the porous borders could be jailed in Mars. Nor mally, countries that have diplomacy have criminals w...

History of Scuba Diving and Pioneer Jacques Cousteau

Modern scuba diving gear consists of one or more gas tanks strapped to the divers back, connected to an air hose and an invention called the demand regulator. The demand regulator controls the flow of air so that the air pressure within the divers lungs equals the pressure of the water. Early Diving Gear Ancient swimmers used cut hollow reeds to breathe air, the first rudimentary snorkel used to enhance our abilities underwater. Around 1300, Persian divers were making rudimentary eye goggles from the thinly sliced and polished shells of tortoises. By the 16th century, wooden barrels were used as primitive diving bells, and for the first time divers could travel underwater with more than one breath of air, but not much more than one. More Than One Breath In 1771, British engineer, John Smeaton invented the air pump. A hose was connected between the air pump and the diving barrel, allowing air to be pumped to the diver. In 1772, Frenchmen, Sieur Freminet invented a rebreathing device that recycled the exhaled air from inside of the barrel, this was the first self-contained air device. Freminets invention was a poor one, the inventor died from lack of oxygen after being in his own device for twenty minutes. In 1825, English inventor, William James designed another self-contained breather, a cylindrical iron belt attached to a copper helmet. The belt held about 450 psi of air, enough for a seven-minute dive. In 1876, Englishmen, Henry Fleuss invented a closed circuit, oxygen rebreather. His invention was originally intended to be used in the repair of an iron door of a flooded ships chamber. Fleuss then decided to use his invention for a thirty-foot deep dive underwater. He died from the pure oxygen, which is toxic to humans under pressure. Rigid Diving Suits In 1873, Benoà ®t Rouquayrol and Auguste Denayrouze built a new piece of equipment a rigid diving suit with a safer air supply, however it weighed about 200 pounds. Houdini Suit - 1921 Famous magician and escape artist, Harry Houdini (born Ehrich Weiss in Budapest, Hungary in 1874) was also an inventor. Harry Houdini astonished audiences by escaping from handcuffs, straitjackets, and locked boxes, often doing so underwater. Houdinis invention for a divers suit permitted divers, in case of danger, to quickly divest themselves of the suit while submerged and to safely escape and reach the surface of the water. Jacques Cousteau Emile Gagnan Emile Gagnan and Jacques Cousteau co-invented the modern demand regulator and an improved autonomous diving suit. In 1942, the team redesigned a car regulator and invented a demand regulator that would automatically fresh air when a diver breathed. A year later in 1943, Cousteau and Gagnan began selling the Aqua-Lung.

Piaget s Stages Of Development - 1888 Words

For centuries, child psychology has attempted to explain how children cultivate the ability to think- or their cognitive development. It wasn’t until Jean Piaget, a Swiss psychologist and researcher, stepped into the scene that headway was achieved. Considered a true trailblazer for the field of study, Piaget spent over six decades observing and studying children. He understood that children didn’t think in the way adults do and spent countless hours with children- some hardly able to talk. The result? He developed a multiple stage theory to essentially categorize cognitive growth in a child from birth to adolescence. Amazingly, to this day, Piaget’s theory is still highly regarded in the field of psychology and child studies. The first of Piaget’s stages of development is the Sensorimotor stage. This stage lasts from birth to approximately 2 years old. â€Å"the child uses his senses and emerging motor skills to explore the environment. Verbal interaction, an object-rich setting and the freedom to explore are of paramount importance at this time† (Webb, p.94). In addition, the child develops object permanence – â€Å"The knowledge that an object exists even when it’s not in sight† (lecture**). For example, this is why children at this stage enjoy the classic game of peek-a-boo. _____ In addition to object permanence, Piaget structured the sensorimotor stage into multiple sub-stages. Marketing Management Interrelation between Segmentation

Question: Discuss about the Marketing Management for Interrelation between Segmentation. Answer: The aim of this present essay is to identify the interrelation between segmentation, positioning and targeting (STP) which is three most essential segments of a fruitful marketing mix. Companies require building a well-organized marketing plan when the particular organization is going to launch a new business venture or to launch a new brand. In the time of launching a new brand, a business enterprise initially needs to identify a particular target market which after that followed by the process of the marketing mix. To obtain a clear understanding regarding the subject matter of marketing mix and its correlation with STP, the essay has discussed strategies of the marketing mix of Johnson Johnson and Sanitarium-Weet-Bix in the case of launching two new brands in the market. Before understanding how the two mentioned business organizations have become successful in marketing by using the concepts of the marketing mix and STP in particular, it is necessary to understand that marketing is essential for managing a firm customer relationship with the customer. Additionally, marketing helps a company to deliver values to the consumers that support to acquire benefits for the organization (Alon and Eugene 2012). The process of the marketing mix of a company could not become successful if the company stays ignorant about the other interrelated aspects of marketing which are market segmentation, positioning, and targeting (Hassan and Craft 2012). With the help of market segmentation, a company identifies other groups or organizations with similar service attributes by segmenting the entire trade market. On the other hand, without targeting a proper group of audience, a company could not decide appropriate price or quality of the product (Kotler et al. 2015). Most importantly, positioning strategy is necessary when the enterprise goes to design an effective offering method to establish a distinct position among the target market (Sharma and Lambert 2013). Hence, the entire STP process is a mandatory criterion to choose a particular product, set an apt price for the product and after that to make a suitable promotion catches the eyes of the targeted audience (Smh.com.au 2016). Alongside, marketing mix supports an organization to stay entirely concentrated upon the intended audience and establishes an individual brand image that can be differentiated from other rival enterprises (Huang and Sarigll 2014). Most importantly, a proper marketing mix enhances the volume of credibility for a company. Johnson Johnson (JJ) is among one of those companies which are known for both its unique quality of products and services and exclusive and variety range of services. From baby products to skin care to women hygiene, the enterprise has caught billions of audience from every horizon of the world. Specifically, JJ is a familiar name for most of the household across countries for its unique and quality products in the brand of baby and child care. The organization has done a line extension in this particular brand by frequently launching cream, soaps, lotion and power in different fragrances and colors. Furthermore, the company prefers to do corporate branding as part of their marketing strategy. Specifically, JJ has earned immense popularity with their Johnson's baby powder and their success over this individual product is indicative of the fact that the enterprise has tactfully made a balance between their strategies for STP and marketing mix (Hassan and Craft 2012). For instance, JJ has promptly used the concept of targeting which has helped them to find an enormous scope in targeting newborn babies and the newly become mothers. The company's aim regarding their targeting strategy has been to launch a product which can be affordable for the parents staying above the poverty line. JJ mainly has chosen the demographic segmentation and concentrated on to target mothers between the age group of 24 to 32 as newly become parents of this age group are considered to have the best interest to take proper care of their child's health (Jnj.com.au 2016). Similarly, with the help of using positioning concepts, the company uses eye catchy positioning statements that make the way easy to reach the desired revenue scale. JJs positioning statements are popular among the audience as most of the quotes are made considering aspects of emotional bonding. Considering the characteristic of the target market, JJ's baby powder possesses some excellent features such as i t helps to make smooth skin, prevents any rash forming germs and comes in an attractive cylindrical package. On the other hand, the organization prefers to distribute their products in retail and supermarket stores like Walmart, Target, Vons and Eversave offers special discount coupon and gift packs and campaigns like Nursings Future as part of promotional activities. Keeping in mind about the fundamental purpose of the company regarding the product, JJ has set an affordable price which has supported the company to make a good bond with the customers along with to earn huge revenue (Jnj.com.au 2016). In the year 2011, the enterprise acquired near about 65 billion dollars and the company believes they could not have received such an amount without the use of the concept of STP and marketing mix. Unfortunately, instead of having successful marketing and customer satisfaction, the company has been blamed for their talcum powder. The report says that use of Johnson's talcum powder is linked with the death of Jacqueline Fox as the Fox family claimed that Jacqueline used the talcum powder of JJ that ultimately proved wrong for her ovarian cancer. The company has been obligated to pay near about 100 million dollars after the Missouri Jury found that Johnson's powder holds components those produce punitive damage (Wang 2016). Sanitarium-Weet-Bix is another business enterprise that has been considered as one of the familiar names for providing healthy breakfast cereals in Australia. The company has aptly used to concepts of the marketing mix and STP to serve the purpose to provide nutritious and quality breakfast cereals at an affordable price. Most importantly, the company uses these concepts of marketing to meet with their strategic priorities such as to deliver ultimate value to the shareholders and holding the accountability to practice responsible citizenship. Most importantly, Sanitarium uses the concepts of marketing mix along with STP to promote an improved and unique cereal of Weet-Bix in the market. The company's attempt to extend their numerous customer groups from typical health concerned people to ordinary citizens (Loao Barroca 2013). Specifically, Sanitarium's current purpose regarding marketing plan is to reduce the gap between market shares and win over the rival brand Kellogs. Using the concept of STP, Sanitarium has segmented the market into heath conscious, energy conscious, body conscious and sweet lovers. Each section has been created considering demographic, psychographic and behavioral attributes of the concept of segmentation. According to the segmentation style, the company specifically targets the active boys and the adults who are concerned with health, career, and figure. However, in comparison with the segmentation and targeting strategy, the organization's positioning strategy is not worth accomplishing as they are less tasty in taste. Nevertheless, the positioning strategy helped the enterprise in gaining praise for providing cereals which have maximum nutritional benefits. Following the STP strategy, Sanitarium has introduced a luxurious packaging with the facility of zipping log to attract the adult audience. On the other hand, the organization has inserted omega 3 with the help of microencapsulation process and has set 20% lower price than the range of traditional package to gain significant market share (Mitchell 2015). Fortunately, the enterprises plan to distribute near about 65% of the newly launched product to the supermarkets and 20% and 10% to the retail convenience and independent food departments respectively have worked in favor. As Sanitarium focuses on to provide nutritional attributes rather than concentrating on taste, the enterprise has preferred to promote the awareness among the audience initially. Promotion through convincing and raising awareness among the public has accompanied other marketing strategies successfully. However, according to the code of practice that is formed to claim nutrients have allowed only 1.5g of fiber for each serve which made it difficult for companies like Sanitarium as the products of the company contains high fiber. Products of this company still run on 4g fiber on each serve. Therefore Sanitarium needs to change the elements before the deadline of 2016 (CHOICE 2016). Nevertheless, with the help of marketing mix, the enterprise successfully attracted cu stomers across Australia as they recently praised as the largest player in UKs cereal market. From the entire article, it is understandable that segmentation, positioning, and marketing play key roles in forming marketing mix for a company. As per the essay, Johnson and Johnson and Sanitarium-Weet-Bix are two those well-known companies those have earned enormous popularity in the market with the help of using concepts of the marketing mix and STP. JJ for instance, have gained success in selling Johnson's baby powder by targeting infants and mothers and setting a price affordable for everyone. On the other hand, Sanitarium has acquired appraisal for selling highly nutritional breakfast meals for the active boys and health and energy conscious adults. However, JJ has to pay more than 100 million dollars to a family as the company has been accused of the death of a lady who has used their talcum powder for hygiene purpose. Sanitarium on the other side has the threat to lose revenue scale if they do not minimize the fiber component from the cereals. References Alon, I. and Eugene, J., 2012.Global marketing. Stevie Smith, Anne Sexton Adrienne Rich free essay sample

Examines three American women poets works, styles, techniques, language, artistic development, themes (focusing on love sex). Women poets of the last half century have developed a poetic voice which is, in the most positive way, distinctively female. Stevie Smith, Anne Sexton and Adrienne Rich are three of these poets. Though they write on a variety of subjects, death for example, or on subjects that are uniquely female, such as motherhood, one of the areas in which women poets pose the strongest challenge to the patriarchal tradition is the subject of love. After centuries in which the conventions and approaches and vocabulary of love poetry were primarily the creations of men, poets such as Smith, Sexton and Rich were among those who offered a new, specifically female view of love. Though the three poets are very different writers in terms of style, form and the specifics of subject matter, taken together they provide strong examples of how the uniquely female view is transforming

Quentin Tarantino essays

Quentin Tarantino essays Quentin Tarantino is arguably one of the most influential film makers/ directors/ actors of our time and has made his mark on Hollywood forever. His movies are thought provoking, intelligent, and, very often, so vulgar and violent that we cringe or turn away while watching. However, Quentin Tarantino and his films have achieved cult status. In this biography, we will take a look at his early life, his claim to fame and a couple of his works. Quentin Tarantino had developed a taste for pop culture at an early age. He was born in 1963, in Knoxville, Tennessee. His mother was 16 years old at the time. There are many rumors about how Tarantino was named. Some believe that he was named after Quint, played by Burt Reynolds, from the T.V. series Gunsmoke. Others think he was named after the girl Quentin from William Faulkners novel The Sound and the Fury. Tarantino grew up in South Bay, in southern Los Angeles. As a child, he watched many hours of television, read many comic books, and went to the movies very often. Tarantino was a very intelligent, but hyperactive child. His parents were divorced early in their marriage and early in his life. Despite this, he still kept his father Tonys name: Tarantino. The boy had difficulties reading and writing. He did not like school at all, so he dropped out in the tenth grade and started working at a pornography cinema called the Pussycat in Torrance, checking tickets. He then started taking acting lessons and worked at a video store called Video Archives in the Californian Manhattan Beach. Quentin Tarantinos style and technique of filmmaking are his claim to fame. He incorporates unique filmmaking techniques his work that are offered from no other filmmaker. In some of his latest work, he shows flashbacks, so you must pay attention to the movie as not to get confused. For example, in his first major film Reserv...

Theories of Nursing Paper Research Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1000 words

Theories of Nursing - Research Paper Example One of the central tenets of Benner’s work is the idea that care forms the central aspect of nursing, that it allows a nurse to better connect to a patient, to better administer care, and to better see possible problems and situations before they arise (Alligood, 2002, 157). Though I agree to a certain extent with the primacy of care to any practical nursing environment, I believe that care can only be of actual use to a nurse if he or she has the advantage of experience to guide them in how to best support their patients. Much of my recent practice has been as a primary triage nurse for an (unfortunately) over-crowded emergency room. This emergency department has fifty-three adult patient beds and it is up to me to decide how they are best used in most situations, only changing significantly when patients develop new symptoms or problems become apparent after the triage process has already begun. In a recent experience I had fifty-two beds filled with extremely high priority patients, something of a nightmare, and nearly simultaneously had six patients presenting the extremely distressing symptom of chest pains, all describing them in nearly identical ways. I obviously had only one bed to give until other beds cleared from patients being released or transferred, and had to make one of the most difficult decisions I ever had to make as a triage nurse. I realize in retrospect that I naturally applied many of Benner’s theories of Person, Environment, Health and Nursing to the situation at hand without necessarily realizing it at the time. Obviously, in a triage situation, two of the aspects of this theory most directly applied to what I was doing in practice – Health and Nursing. In a triage setting two things are important: identifying the patient most in need of care (or in extreme triage situations, the person to whom care will be most useful) and as a nurse finding the best and most efficient way to identify the best and most effective me thods of allowing them to receive that care. So I had to identify which of these people was the most unwell, and how I could best act to make them better, whilst simultaneously trying to get the other five the care they needed as fast as humanly possible. My education certainly played a significant role in my decision. In nursing school, I learned how to differentiate between a wide variety of chest pains, to use specialized language (such as throbbing, stabbing, dull, sharp and so on) to help weed out the possible causes of a wide variety of pains, and thus by knowing their causes apply the best care to the group of six as possible, which in this case meant getting the most serious case a bed as soon as possible. Likewise, I had an academic knowledge of how to use pain scales to help identify patients based on their level of pain from one to ten, with one being nearly nothing and ten being the worst level of pain possible. Using this academic knowledge I was able to quickly dismiss two of the cases as most likely being caused by acid reflux (burning pain high in the esophagus with relatively moderate pain scale) and patients who were, though taking a good precaution by seeking medical care, probably not in need of emergency services in an urgent fashion. Following this, however, the situation became much more difficult. Two of the people I

Parkinson's disease Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1000 words

Parkinson's disease - Essay Example Damaging approximately 60% to 80% of the cells producing dopamine would cause its deficiency and consequently lead to the appearance of PD motor symptoms. The National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke, NINDS (2013) refers to this brain cells impairment process as neurodegeneration. Prevalence and Incidence About 1 million people in the US suffer from PD with between 50,000 to 60,000 new cases being diagnosed annually. Worldwide, between 4 million and 6 million people suffer from PD (National Parkinson Foundation, 2013). It has been particularly noted to set in at age 50 to 65 with a lower incidence in African Americans as compared to the Caucasians and 3:2 for male to female ratio incidence (Talan, 2011). Motor Manifestation Years before the motor manifestation, people with PD experience non-motor symptoms including sleep disorders, loss of smell, hyposmia and constipation. The Braak’s hypothesis cited by the NPF (2013) observes its earliest signs in the medulla, particularly the olfactory bulb which controls the sense of smell. It would then gradually progress to the cortex and substantia. Notwithstanding, the four motor symptoms cited by NFP (2013) are cardinal in PD: postural instability, slowness of movement, rigidity and tremor. The well-known symptom of tremor has been referred to as rest tremor by NINDS (2013) as it becomes maximal on rested limbs and disappears with sleep or voluntary movement. It begins with a single leg or arm and later becomes bilateral. The tremors have a frequency of between 4 and 6 Hz. Secondly, the slowness of movement referred to as bradykinesia by NFP (2013) relates to difficulties in the whole movement process: planning, initiation and execution. This early manifestation hinders simultaneous and sequential movement performance indicated by problems related with performance of fine motor controlled tasks like sewing, writing and dressing up. The magnitude would be determined by one’s emotional state or activity. Rigidity would be manifested by stiffness of the limb and resistance to movement due to excessive continuous muscle contraction or muscle tone. This could be uniform or ratchet referred to as lead-pipe and cogwheel rigidity respectively. It could be accompanied by pain. Whereas in the early stages it affects the shoulder and neck muscles, it later progresses to the whole body. Finally, the late stages of the disease exhibits impaired balance causing frequent falls and bone fractures due to postural instability. It would be experienced by 40% of the patients. Talan (2011) adds posture and gait disturbances like festination to the list of these motor manifestations. Diagnosis and Detection Initial diagnosis requires the identification of at least two of these four motor manifestations (NPF, 2013). Bedside examination by a neurologist remains the most basic diagnostic tool for suspect patients. To aid this diagnosis, emergent imaging modalities including PET and DAT scans would be performed by a neuroimaging expert with DATscan playing a critical role of differentiating PD from other essential tremors but cannot indicate the PD subtype. Also to aid in accurate diagnosis would be the need for information on physical and medical examination and also medication history to ascertain the absence of medication that causes symptoms similar to those of PD. The

Adrenaline rush Essay Example for Free

Adrenaline rush Essay This week was so stressful. For the entire whole week, I was assigned to track the advertising history of the company’s sports drink client. I ran through hundreds of video tapes of the sport drink’s advertisement in the span of 5 years, noting each and every aspect in the ideals in their communication style. I was assessing the visual, the content and the semiotics of the whole thing. What’s worse about it is that I have to review the entire set of tapes in the office. I would have liked it watching at home but I have to be confined in the workplace. But knowing it was a job; I accepted the challenge and readied myself for hours and hours of video tapes. But I learned another valuable idea in the media industry concerning contents of the advertising. In a way, it does imply that advertisements do manipulate the consumer behavior. Watching the advertisements of the sport drink, I observed how it evolved into describing the product itself into touching the health issues of the health-conscious and athletes. Like what the sport drink company wants to advertise their latest sports drink product that addresses the more health-conscious consumer, I realized that they now are conscious of the fact that people today likes to know more of the content of their product, and that is their aim in their new advertising venture. Other things I was exposed this week: learning semiotics of the print ads of the sports drink company details on how STG Media Corp. analyzes these given semiotics establishing more communication with the sports drink company developing more personal and professional relationship with the Creative Team (they invited me to one of their deliberations and I get to witness how they brain-storm ideas for the project) Week 4 (provide date) It was a week of adrenaline rush. The Creative Team finalized their output and was presented to the sport drink company. They liked it! With this the whole team was pressed for time. Everybody seemed to be really anticipating the results. I was assigned to track the statistics of how the product is doing in the market after the release of the advertisement. The company has a great way to promote the product and was successfully able to deliver the results for the company. Other thing I learned is that the media industry has many issues to deal with. Like for example, the Creative Team was perfectionists in the sense that after releasing the output in form of the print ad, they wanted to be sure that the effects of the print ad will be evident and reflected through sales. They were still anxious and worried of the end result when in fact; they already did their job by producing a print ad. I realized that many of them really are dedicated in providing the client with their money’s worth. Another thing I realized is that companies take advertisements seriously. I thought that business management theories and ideals only entails that they give importance to advertisements, but through this experience I learned that they are really committed in selling the idea to the consumer. And this generates the influence of media to the consumers. Week 5 (provide date) This week was a mix of tasks. One of the most interesting things exposed to me was the process of reviewing the Creative Team and the advertising project in general. I thought that the evaluation of the employees was done by the executives of the company alone, but at STG Media Corp. , they provide real life processes in dealing with performance issues. The company has an interesting way to evaluate its employees. There is the concept of a performance improvement plan that is drawn between the Human Resource department of the company and from the employee’s manager, in this case the Creative Team head. These reports are then presented to the employees. This draw my attention as I realize that the method of evaluating employees in this company is a non-punitive method that demonstrates how the company recognizes the issues in the Team but are willing to work with the employee and give them opportunity to improve. It was interesting to me because of notice that one particular person was not able to contribute that much in the Creative Team and was not able to contribute much ideas in the process (I was present in almost all their meetings so this is an observation that is true). The evaluation was not very good to him and as a result, the whole Creative Team talked it through the management. The executives of the company then addressed a letter to the employee and showed his performance evaluation. After which, the whole Creative Team approached and talked to him and encouraged him to be open and present his ideas. Turns out, the team member was intimidated with the other professionals he is working with and needs to feel he is welcomed in the team along with his ideas.
